Patches Given to Professor Christopher N. Geary

This patch was given to Professor Geary by Professor Nick Cerio. The red border indicates the rank of black belt. The moon represents a clear mind, the white mountain a strong body and the blue water a flowing spirit. On the NCMA patch, the globe represents the worldwide reach of the NCMA while the tree represents its growth, enabled by the energy from the sun. The branches represent the knowledge the different styles have to offer and the tree roots represents the spreading of the that knowledge through the different styles of martial arts. This is the patch for Hanshi Lou Angel's style of martial art. Tenshi means Angel, Goju means Hard and Soft, and Kai means System. The red sun represents Hard while the lines represent a flowing river for Soft. The Japanese kanji means "Tenshi".

On August 30, 2003 Christopher N. Geary received the World Head of Family Sokeship Council International Hall of Fame Master Instructor of the Year award. He was presented this for his accomplishments in the art of Shaolin Kempo. The prestigious international martial arts grandmasters council presented the award at the World Head of Family Sokeship Council's 10 year anniversary celebration in Orlando, Florida. Small patch: KGS BBS stands for   Karazenpo Go Shinjutsu Black Belt   Society.

Large patch: The original patch layout for first Karazenpo Go Shinjutsu school on the mainland United States. The patch was designed by Sijo Victor "Sonny" Gascon in the 1950's. The figure in the center is a likeness of Bodhidharma. The characters on left side spells out "Gascon" the right side spells out "Victor", which is the name of the founder of this style of kempo. The meaning of Karazenpo Go Shinjutsu can be broken down as follows: "Kara" means empty/Chinese hand, "Zen" means of the mind, breathing, belief in truth and life, "Po" means kenpo/kempo, "Go" represents number five for the original five animal martial arts (dragon, tiger, leopard, crane, and snake) "Shinjutsu" means the method of self defense without bearing arms.
