Physical Conditioning

As a student of Christopher N. Geary's Shaolin Kempo, excellence is our goal and personal excellence should be an objective of every student. To enhance your personal improvement in the martial art of Kempo, you will be challenged by many physical tasks and to make the most progress, physical conditioning is introduced. Some of this conditioning is presented in class. As an extra service to the development of the special people who have chosen to become Christopher N. Geary's Shaolin Kempo students, this education is offered.

For any students who wish to use this information to supplement their workouts, it is strongly advised that the student be examined by their physician to assure that they are safe to participate in such exercises. Christopher N. Geary's Shaolin Kempo and its instructors assume no liability in the case of adverse consequences of following this advice. The student assumes the risk of determining their physical fitness to participate in any of the following advice and/or exercises. If you belong to a gym, please take advantage of developing an exercise routine with the club trainer.

In order to understand what effects exercise has on muscles, it is necessary to understand the basics of muscle physiology, covered on the next page.
